Sensual and exotic

Exotic experiences

When you enter Café Beirut you`ll be met by a lovely fresh smell of spices, meat and fish; an appetizing atmosphere in one of Norways most distinctive and intimate Restaurants. On both sides of the rectangulare room, tables are lined up with white and red table-cloths. The premesis are divided by thin pillars so that the ones who wishes can "hide" away a bit. In the middle of the room a special-imported, long, massive table is placed, seating 14 people. There are five light-wells mounted in the table which gives an almost magical effect. The premesis also have dimmed lights which creates intimacy. The Restaurants inner space is on a higher level where you can book for larger parties. The walls are made of hem, untreated granit with a tall, dark "foot" placed underneath it. It has lots of lamps and antiquary things from the Middle East that the owner Virani has collected in bazars - a tonn all together! Virani has used a long time creating Café Beirut; first he studied Beirut Café in Stockholm and then Restaurant Moro in London. In this metropole Restaurants à la Beirut is hot, and Moro is high on the ranking. Madonna is among the regulars here.

Meat on skew

Café Beirut is all about food, exciting food. Some of the most tempting the southern Mediterranean has to offer. The place` identity is Levanten, grilled meat of chicken, lamb and bull served on a skewer. Totally an unforgettable taste of Lebanons culinary kitchen! But the Mediterranean also means fish, i.e a grilled three meal corse with scampi, salmon, swordfish and wolf-fish. You can chose between three different salsas, and it`s served with rice or potatoes. The Provence-salsa on the salmon must be experienced! The menu and main-courses are moderately priced, as is the selection of wine. A Cognac costs under 70 kroner,- a comfortable price in a Restaurant by this standard. The butler and the waiters guide you through a thorough menu, they are very attentive and professional, and contributes so you get a pleasant evening.

Anitras Dance

Between the hours of 22.00 and 22.30 the oriental music gets a bit louder and a belly-dancer enters the room. The exuberant beauty moves sensually around the tables, and if you give her a smile, you will get a seductive one back... Both women and men enjoys the entertainment, - your are really in Beirut by night! Café Beirut`s guests are a mixture of Norwegians and foreign tourists. And if you need to smoke, you just have a few steps to walk up to Grensen, - where you also will find a pleasant surprise.
